Progress Update: Basic Proof of Concept Terrain Added to Cyberix3D

We’ve added a very early and basic proof of concept (POC) terrain to the new Cyberix3D editor.
At this stage, it’s a simple implementation with no support for layered textures, position adjustments, or size scaling.
These features, along with a terrain editor for shaping the terrain with the mouse, are planned for future development.

You are welcome to explore the new terrain. To move around, use the WASD keys, and hold the Shift key to move faster.

Please note that due to the addition of terrain assets, the loading time has increased.
We are aware of this and plan to optimize loading times in future updates.

Update: Terrain Editing in Cyberix3D

We’re happy to announce that terrain editing capabilities are now available in the new Cyberix3D!

Here’s how you can try it out:
Activate the Terrain Editor: Press the Alt key while hovering over the terrain with your mouse.
Adjust Brush Size: Use the mouse wheel to change the terrain brush size.
Modify Terrain Height: Use the left mouse button to raise the terrain and the right mouse button to lower it.
Blend Terrain Textures: Hold Alt + Shift and use the left/right mouse buttons to adjust terrain blends.

Note: Currently, terrain changes won’t save. This capability will be added in a future update once we integrate with the server side.

We have updated the progress board and added new task status guidelines:
• ☑ Completed: The task is fully completed.
• ◪ Partially Completed: The task is in progress but not yet finished.
• ☐ Not Completed: The task has not been started or is pending.

Our Next Plan:

1. Reduce the file size for faster loading
2. Complete the workflow and attribute editor
3. Add support for models and vehicles
4. Add Material editor
5. Complete all the commands
6. Add login and save/load project
7. Add a conversion feature for Cyberix3D V1 projects into Cyberix3D V2 projects to support old projects
8. Enable publishing new projects on the site (in HTML format, no installation needed)
9. Finish the rest of the progress board tasks

We’ve successfully reduced the app’s file size from 25 MB to 10 MB for faster loading and added a loader to improve your experience.
These changes were complex to implement, which is why they took some time, but we believe they were worth the effort.

Hello everyone,

We would like to share some improvements we’ve made to the workflow:
1. Workflow blocks are now centered.
2. You can select a specific block with the mouse.
3. The drag mechanism has been improved.
4. A drag line indicator has been added to show where the dragged block will be dropped.
• If the line is white, you can drop the block.
• If the line is red, dropping is not allowed.
5. You can cancel drag & drop while dragging by pressing the right mouse button or the Esc key.
6. Dragging near the top or bottom will automatically scroll the workflow up or down.

What’s Next?

Our next step is to add attributes to the workflow.
After that, we’ll display the selected block’s attributes and allow users to edit them.
Our plan is to show the block’s attributes in a separate panel on the right when a block is selected, providing an easy way to edit them.

Hello everyone,

We’re currently working on the Attribute Editor, and while it’s not yet available on the new editor site, we’ll publish it once it’s fully functional.

The new Attribute Editor will appear on the right side whenever you select a block or an object, allowing you to easily modify its properties, such as position, rotation, texture, physics settings, and more.

There’s still a lot of work to be done, and we’ll keep you updated on our progress!

Here’s a preview of how it will look, though some details may change before release:

Hello everyone,

We have added a Texture Picker!

You can now assign a texture to any object by selecting it from the list of available materials.
To choose a texture, simply click on a specific object or its block, then click the Texture field.

Once you select a texture, the result is instantly visible in the scene.
You can cancel your selection to return to the previously assigned texture, or clear the texture to apply the default material to the object.

You can also search for a texture by name to quickly find what you’re looking for.

Please note: Adding new materials is not supported yet — you can currently choose only from the existing list.

⚠️ If you don’t see the changes, try clearing your browser cache.

Hello everyone,

We’d like to share that we’ve started experimenting with integrating 3D models and animations into the new Cyberix3D.

We plan to support all major modern file formats, including FBX, DAE, and many others. You can find the full list of supported formats here:

There will also be an option to export models directly from Blender, making it easier to bring your creations into the engine.

To preview an early example, we’ve created a special link. Please note that this is a hard-coded test model with animation, used solely for development purposes:

Hello everyone,

We’re pleased to announce that our supported model file formats now include:
• OBJ
• 3DS
• MD5
• BLEND
• DAE
• FBX
• MESH
• AWD

Please note that animation is not yet supported for AWD and MD5 formats, and collision is not supported for any models. Support for both features will be added in future updates.

Currently, all model support is based on the source XML file. You cannot yet select models from the server or upload your own. We plan to add server integration in the future, allowing you to upload your own models or choose from the server’s model list.

We’ve also added automatic button controls for mobile devices based on the game’s input.

Next, we’ll continue adding commands to support full games, including SkyBox, Water, Lights, Shadows and 2D controls.

You can explore these new features in the Foxy Adventures game using the new Cyberix3D Editor:

We’re excited to share some great news!
We’ve added the SkyBox command and the Water command, and the Water command now includes a brand-new True Reflections feature!

When True Reflections is enabled, the water surface reflects the entire environment—just like real water.
Take a look at how the foxy player, trees, and rotating coins are beautifully mirrored in the scene:

The new Cyberix3D editor now includes Login and Open Project options, allowing you to sign in and access your projects directly from the new editor.

Please note that only regular login (username & password) is currently supported. Google Sign-In will be added later.

We’ve added a welcome/new project dialog.
You can now choose a game template at the beginning and create a project from it.

Please note that not all game templates are fully functional yet.
You can already play Foxy Adventures and Labyrinth Game, and you can view the map for the FPS Game, but it cannot be played yet because the First Person Camera Controller is still not implemented.

We’ve also fixed the MD5 file loading issue, and you can now view MD5 files in your games.

We have added support for a FirstPerson camera controller in order to make the FPS game work.
We have also fixed some bugs that caused the editor to crash in some games.

You are welcome to load the new Cyberix3D Editor and choose the FPS Game, then explore the map with WASD + mouse:

Hello all,
We are excited to announce significant updates to the new version of Cyberix3D!

New Features:

2D Objects – Added support for Image and Label objects with true font rendering, allowing you to create HUD elements and in-game text. You can also control their visibility in the editor with the Show 2D checkbox

Objects under Camera Controller – You can now add objects under the Camera Controller so they move with the camera. Try it in the FPS Game example – you can see the gun and shoot! Note: there is still an issue with bullet positioning at certain angles that we are working on fixing

Collision for Group & Model – You can now add collision to Group and Model objects

RotateTowards – The RotateTowards action has been added and is now available in the new engine

Force & Impulse with Target Object – Apply physics forces towards other objects in your game


Performance & Stability:

Incremental Game Loading – Games now load gradually to prevent the browser from freezing while loading large games

Fixed Memory Leaks – Improved memory management when removing objects

Improved Loader UI – Better loading experience with progress feedback


Editor Improvements:

Command Palette – Easily add objects and commands visually using the new Command Palette (or right-click Context Menu). On mobile, a new + button opens the Command Palette without interfering with editing, making the most of limited screen space

Dynamic Block Addition – You can now add blocks without the entire game reloading


Mobile Improvements:

Improved Mobile Controls – Game controllers on mobile have been reorganized and now support multi-touch, so you can move and jump at the same time for example
