you should be able to make melee weapon
you should be able to make guns do damage than default
you should make guns to reload or not
maybe add multiplayer compatibility (if ever possible)

All of the thing you mentioned beside the multiplayer can be done by using the editor.
We will add some examples in the future.
About the multiplayer, we have added it to our to-do list.
